Quick Flame Menu

The quick flame menu is the fastest way to create rules while using X.

XpressPurge adds a small flame button to detected posts. Click it when you see a post you want to filter.

The flame button opens a compact menu for the current post.

Depending on the post, the menu can include:

• See less like this
• Hide @handle
• Quick keyword add
• Add new rule
• Manage rules
• Open Settings

Use See less like this when a post is the kind of thing you want gone but you cannot name a keyword that would catch it.

Steps:

1. Click the flame button on a post.
2. Click See less like this.
3. XpressPurge turns that post into an example for the Smart Feed. Posts close to it in meaning are removed from then on.

This entry only appears when the Smart Feed is running and Learn from what I hide is switched on (Options → Modes). If either is off, the entry is hidden — the requirements list on the Filtering card (Options → Filters) shows every prerequisite and whether it is met.

Why an example and not a keyword: a phrase like "AI" can sit a long way from, say, a model release note that only talks about weights and version numbers. The post's own meaning has no such gap, so the next post of that kind is close to it. One example can therefore cover a category you could not have described in advance.

If it turns out to be wrong, recovering a hidden post counts against the example that hid it. An example that you overturn at least half the time, over four or more hides, is retired automatically. You can also delete examples individually in the Smart topics card.

Use Hide @handle when you want to hide future posts from the same account.

Steps:

1. Find a post from the account you want to filter.
2. Click the flame button on the post.
3. Click Hide @handle.
4. XpressPurge creates an account Hide rule.
5. Matching posts from that handle are hidden when the rule is active.

This is best for accounts you do not want to see in your feed.

Use Quick keyword add when a post contains a topic, phrase, or repeated spam pattern you want to hide.

Steps:

1. Click the flame button on a post.
2. Click Quick keyword add.
3. Review the suggested keyword.
4. Edit the keyword if needed.
5. Click Save rule.

The created rule is a Keyword Hide rule.

Avoid overly broad keywords like:

the

ai

Broad keywords can hide posts you may still want to see.

Reviewed drafts are no longer offered from the flame menu. To get suggested rules based on posts you have actually seen, use Smart Rules (Pro), which analyses your stored feed history rather than a single post.

Use Add new rule when you want more control than the quick actions provide.

Steps:

1. Click the flame button on a post.
2. Click Add new rule.
3. Choose a rule type (keyword, account, post contains, engagement, link domain).
4. Choose an action: Hide (free); Boost / Snooze / Show only (Pro).
5. Enter values.
6. If you choose Snooze, select how long it should stay active.
7. Optionally mark the rule Always apply so it runs on every feed mode.
8. Click Save rule.

When a Snooze rule expires, it turns off automatically. Re-enable later from the popup or Options → Filters.

The in-page modal accepts comma-separated values for text-based rules (keywords, handles, domains). Post-content rules use the content chips. On the full Options page, values appear as chips.

Rules are not assigned to presets. Use feed modes in Options → Modes for different setups, and Always apply for rules that should run on every mode. See Feed Modes.

Use Open Settings when you want the full Options dashboard.

From Options, you can:

• edit the rule on Filters → Exact rules;
• add more values;
• mark Always apply for all feed modes;
• review Smart Rule suggestions (Pro);
• disable or delete the rule;
• view analytics and the hidden log on Activity;
• manage Pro, sync, privacy, and account settings.

The flame menu closes when you:

• choose an action;
• click the close button;
• click outside the menu;
• scroll the page;
• press Escape.

If the flame button does not appear:

1. Confirm XpressPurge is enabled.
2. Refresh the X page after reloading the extension.
3. Scroll the feed so X mounts new posts.
4. Open Options → Settings and download diagnostics if the problem continues.

If a quick rule does not apply:

1. Check Options → Filters → Exact rules to confirm the rule was created.
2. Confirm the rule is enabled.
3. Confirm it applies on the active feed mode (or is sticky / Always apply).
4. Confirm the rule is not locked by Free plan limits.
5. Refresh X if you recently reloaded the extension.
